Little Cherubs Nurseries

About the Shortlands nursery

Our Shortlands nursery offers a warm, home-from-home environment where children can play, learn and grow with confidence.

Little Cherubs Shortlands is proudly located in a residential area of Bromley, close to local primary schools, community amenities and transport links. Families also benefit from nearby parking and our private nursery driveway, making drop-off and collection smoother for busy parents.

Originally two separate houses, the building was carefully adapted and joined together in 2004 to create a welcoming 46-place nursery. This gives Shortlands a personal, homely feel while still offering thoughtfully planned early years spaces.

Parents often tell us they notice the difference straight away. The nursery feels calm, caring and genuinely personal, with familiar staff who take time to understand each child’s routine, interests and personality.

Rooms at Shortlands

Shortlands has three carefully designed classrooms, each tailored to support children at different stages of early development.

Bright Beginnings

Our baby room provides a gentle, nurturing space where younger children can build secure bonds, rest peacefully and explore at their own pace.

Tiny Tots

Our toddler room supports growing independence, early language, friendships and active hands-on learning.

Shooting Stars

Our pre-school room helps older children build confidence, communication skills and independence as they prepare for their next stage.

Each room is warm, engaging and thoughtfully resourced to promote curiosity, confidence and independence.

Every day is carefully structured to give children a balance of play, learning and rest. From creative activities and group time to quieter moments and outdoor play, children are encouraged to explore in a way that feels natural to them.

Our team works closely with parents to understand each child’s routine, interests and personality. That consistency between home and nursery helps children settle more easily and feel confident in their surroundings.

Children learn through meaningful play, practical experiences and activities linked to their interests.

Strong relationships

Familiar practitioners support each child with warmth, patience and encouragement.

Growing independence

Children are supported to make choices, develop friendships and try new things with confidence.

Outdoor play and exploration

Our main playground features a specially designed soft rubberised safety surface, creating a secure and comfortable environment for active play.

The outdoor area encourages children to explore nature, develop physical skills, extend their learning outdoors and enjoy imaginative play. During warmer months, our large canopy provides shade and sun protection, helping children enjoy outdoor experiences comfortably.

The Tiny Tots room also benefits from a small gated garden area directly accessible from the classroom, allowing safe free-flow play and giving children the confidence to explore both indoor and outdoor environments.
