Little Cherubs Nurseries

Nourishing little bodies and growing minds

Mealtimes are an important part of the nursery day. Our practitioners sit with the children, encourage conversation, model positive eating behaviours and help children develop good table manners in a calm, supportive way.

Children are encouraged to make choices, serve themselves where appropriate, pour drinks and develop self-feeding skills. These everyday routines help build confidence, coordination and independence.

A healthy approach to nursery food

Our food routines are carefully planned to support children’s health, development and enjoyment of mealtimes.

Meals are prepared as purée, mashed, lumpy, textured or baby-led weaning, depending on each child.

Babies are seated safely in highchairs or stable sitters, with practitioners feeding at the child’s level.

Babies are encouraged to explore finger foods and self-feeding when developmentally ready.

Health and wellbeing

Healthy eating, emotional wellbeing and positive relationships are woven throughout our curriculum through play, planned activities and meaningful daily experiences.

We are committed to nurturing happy, healthy and confident children, giving them the best start in life.

Supporting emotional growth

Wellbeing is the foundation for learning. When children and adults feel emotionally secure and supported, they are more able to thrive.

Each room includes a calm and relaxation area with books and sensory resources.

Emotional literacy

Children are supported to recognise, name and express their emotions in age-appropriate ways.

Positive behaviour

Practitioners use consistent positive behaviour approaches and offer additional support when needed.
