Carefully recruited and fully supported

At Little Cherubs, we follow rigorous recruitment procedures to make sure all staff working with children are suitable, qualified and committed to safeguarding.

Careful selection

All prospective staff are interviewed and asked to provide character and professional references.

DBS checked

Staff must hold a current Enhanced DBS disclosure before employment begins.

Ongoing suitability

Suitability checks are reviewed regularly to help maintain a safe nursery environment.

We are fully committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of every child in our care.

Debbie founded Little Cherubs in 2000 with a clear vision to create a family-run nursery where parents could feel complete peace of mind.

What began as a small Sydenham setting has grown into the Little Cherubs family across Sydenham and Shortlands.

Charlotte - Company Director

Charlotte

Company Director

Charlotte joined Little Cherubs in 2015 and supports the operational, financial and leadership structure of the business.

She works closely with the Directors and Management Team to maintain high standards across both nursery settings.

Ruby - Company Director

Ruby

Company Director

Ruby has grown up with Little Cherubs and is a qualified Early Years practitioner based at the Shortlands branch.

She supports both nursery practice and the office and management side of the business.

Maggie - Area Manager

Maggie

Area Manager

Maggie joined Little Cherubs in 2000 and has progressed through a variety of leadership roles across both settings.

She supports quality of education, curriculum planning, staff supervision, safeguarding practice and continuous improvement.

Danielle - Deputy Manager

Danielle

Deputy Manager

Danielle has worked within Early Years since 1996 and has held a number of leadership roles within Little Cherubs.

She is passionate about creative learning, strong relationships and supporting practitioners to grow in confidence.

Chris - Nursery Manager

Chris

Nursery Manager

Chris has worked in Early Years for over 10 years and is committed to creating a safe, warm, nurturing and fun environment.

He supports children, families and staff so everyone feels valued, included and motivated to thrive.

Tara - Deputy Manager

Tara

Deputy Manager

Tara has worked within childcare for over 15 years and has experience across all Early Years age groups.

She is passionate about play-based learning, inclusion, messy play, singing and supporting strong family partnerships.

Safeguarding and wellbeing

Each nursery has at least two trained Designated Safeguarding Leads who coordinate safeguarding and welfare matters.

Safeguarding leads

Safeguarding policies are reviewed regularly to reflect statutory guidance and best practice.

Wellness ambassadors

Our trained Wellness Ambassadors provide peer support and promote positive mental health.

Each setting has a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator who leads inclusive practice.

Our SENCo team helps identify needs early and supports personalised plans and strategies.

We are committed to making sure our team continues to grow, develop and stay aligned with current best practice and the EYFS statutory framework.

Staff regularly receive updated policies, training materials and key focus areas to review, including safeguarding updates, curriculum development, wellbeing practices and changes in legislation.

This helps ensure our practice remains current, consistent and focused on the best outcomes for the children in our care.
